Seachart Wreck
Seachart was a cargo ship carrying 1200 teak logs from Myanmar to Vietnam in August 2009 when it was caught by a heavy storm just offshore at Khaolak, and sank. All crew were rescued, but the 84 meters long MV Seachart now rests on its starboard side, on the sand at 42 meters. Seachart is still intact with all its cargo, making it an amazing wreck dive.
The wreck itself is beautiful now, covered with masses of soft coral, and because it’s rarely visited it is pristine with huge numbers of fish. There are lots of Lionfish, Batfish, Snapper, and huge numbers of Barracuda, from juvenile to adult, that cover the whole upper part of the wreck.
The shallowest part of the Seachart Wreck is at a depth of about 24 meters and the dive site has variable visibility, making it suitable only for experienced divers. To dive this wreck you need to have Nitrox certification and preferably deep specialty. We can complete your deep specialty course with you if you would like to dive this wreck.
