Why have a Private Dive Guide?

Having a private dive guide for your scuba diving trip on the Similans may not be a luxury but an essential part of your trip.
The cost of a private guide is fairly small for the benefits that you get, but who would want or need one?

Well lots of people and for many reasons!

You want to take photographs

Digital underwater photography

Photography dives have different requirements to many other dives. You need to go slowly, take time to set up your shot, often keeping to shallower water where the light is better. You don’t want to be hurried, and you do want a long dive. Being a photographer in a group where some people are not taking photos isn’t great.

A private dive guide can monitor NDL’s and where everyone is in the group. This means that you can concentrate on your photographs. We offer private photography dives or photography group dives.
That way everyone has the same focus, and your dive guide can keep everyone safe.

Maybe it’s been a while since you dived

If you haven’t dived for a while it can be a little stressful. Do you remember how to set up your kit? Are you worried about equalising? Possibly you’d like an easy shallower dive at your own pace until you get your rhythm back.

Many people are worried when they haven’t dived for a while and having your own dive guide to look after you takes most of that pressure away. We are experienced instructors able to give you as much or as little support as you need while you settle back into scuba diving.

For a Special Occasion

use a private dive guide for a special occasion

If your scuba diving trip marks a special event, like a honeymoon, birthday or wedding anniversary you might like to have your dive guide to yourselves.

Having a private dive guide to yourselves makes the day much more special, and understandably, if this day is special for you as a couple, you probably don’t want a group of strangers around.

We can also arrange for your guide to take pictures of your special day that you can take away with you.

You have Physical Challenges

For many people with physical challenges, the feeling of weightlessness and support underwater gives significant relief.

For people with aching joints or a bad back, through to amputees with prostheses. Provided your doctor says you are medically fit to dive, we can provide the land, boat and underwater support that you need to enjoy your dive.

Whether that be assisting you to kit up in-water, providing ‘towing’ support underwater or on the surface, assisting with kit preparation or simply physical logistics, we can help.

Physical Challenges

Do you use a lot of air?

Lets face it some people just do use more air than others. There are lots of reasons for it, some we can help you with, and some are just down to physiology. While 15 litre tanks are available on most boats, sometimes it can just be embarrassing. Especially if you feel that you are cutting other people’s dive short.

We can arrange for a 15 litre tank and a private guide who can help you to find ways of using less air. We will work on your buoyancy and efficiency in the water. We’ll extend your dive time to the maximum that you are capable of.

Because you can!

Sometimes you don’t need any better reason! When you are spending your hard-earned cash diving some of the worlds best dive sites, the extra cost to have a private dive guide is so small that it’s really a no-brainer.

We provide the extra care and attention that doesn’t come as standard.
